Summer 2019 nonprofit support applications open
Campus Compact announces three summer opportunities for nonprofits in and around the state of Iowa build capacity through targeted support from college students. Campus Compact is the recipient of funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service, Volunteer Iowa, and Tyson Foods to improve the capacity of nonprofits through summer internships and AmeriCorps positions.
The program provides full-time college students an approximately eight-week paid summer internship to assist community organizations and gain experience with diverse social issues. Tyson Foods is underwriting this program, which will offer internships in Summer 2019 in Chicago, Illinois, and Sioux City, Storm Lake and Council Bluffs in Iowa. Learn more.
Summer VISTAs provide near full-time support to build the capacity of Iowa nonprofits or government agencies in order to reduce poverty. IACC anticipates awarding 15 Summer VISTA positions in 2019. Host sites are required to pay a cost share of $600 for each member they enroll into the program. Learn more.
The Summer Reading Corps provides an invaluable opportunity for nonprofits in the state of Iowa to expand their reach to deliver reading programs to children, teens, and adults in their community. The program provides the agency with a nine-week paid full-time AmeriCorps volunteer to deliver local summer reading programming. Learn more.
