Board Elects New Member

August 27, 2018

This month the Iowa Campus Compact Board elected Allen College President Jared Seliger to a three-year term. In May, the board re-elected Loras College President Jim Collins for another three-year term and elected Jim Wohlpart to a two-year term as board chair. Wohlpart is Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Northern Iowa.

Seliger was selected by the Allen College Board of Trustees to be the institution’s third president beginning January, 2018. Previously, he had served as the director of Allen College’s nuclear medicine technology program from 2008-2017 and as associate chancellor from 2015-2017. He earned a PhD degree in higher education administration from Iowa State University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Northern Iowa, a Bachelor of Science degree from Loras College and a certificate in nuclear medicine technology from the University of Iowa.

Prior to working at Allen College, Jared had worked in the healthcare setting as a nuclear medicine technologist at a Waterloo hospital and outpatient radiology clinic.  A life-long Iowa resident, Jared and his wife Miranda live in Hudson with their two year old daughter, Tenley.
