Iowa Higher Education Collaboration Receives National Funding

A collaboration of three Iowa colleges and universities was selected as one of nine national grant recipients for an initiative to advance civic learning and student success across the education continuum. A consortium of four organizations—Campus Compact, the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU), Education Commission of the States (ECS), and Generation Citizen—is supporting the grants. Dozens of institutions of higher education across the country applied and only one Iowa institution was selected. Iowa Campus Compact expands student AmeriCorps opportunities

Iowa Campus Compact is excited to share news about its Iowa College AmeriCorps Program (ICAP). Beginning this October, we will be offering a new opportunity for Iowa college students to serve in the Des Moines and Iowa City community. We’re calling it Community ICAP. What is Community ICAP? Building off of Summer ICAP’s success, Community ICAP will expand IACC’s impact on nonprofit capacity and provide meaningful service opportunities to college students. Presidents of Loras College and the University of Northern Iowa Elected to Iowa Campus Compact Board

Iowa Campus Compact announced today that President Jim Collins of Loras College and President Bill Ruud of the University of Northern Iowa have joined its board of directors for three-year terms. These presidents join a board that includes five other college and university presidents from across the state.
