Spring 2018 Network Retreat
February 15 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join higher education staff, faculty, leaders, students, and partners for a network retreat focusing on important topics in higher education and community engagement.
10:00-Noon Assessment and Evaluation Roundtable
Participants will share community engagement learning outcomes and assessment and evaluation tools. Attendees will be asked to bring examples for a tool-sharing workshop.
Noon-1:00 pm Lunch and Partner Discussion
For lunch we will be joined by full-time national service members from across the state and have an update on the Iowa Campus Compact community partner research project.
1:00-3:00 pm Dialogue on Equity, Safety, and Community Engagement
Student demographics and demands are changing along with a backdrop of changing culture and political climate. These issues impact the success of community engagement efforts and how we help students learn and grow in community. Join us for a dialogue facilitated by Dr. Katrina Neely Farren-Eller, Coordinator at Inclusive Dubuque. We’ll discuss trends on campus and in the world and explore ways to adapt and respond.
This retreat will also serve as a in-service training event for full-time AmeriCorps and VISTA members. Members of the Iowa College AmeriCorps Program or Iowa Campus Compact VISTA Community Corps can register at no cost with the discount code “AmeriCorps” and are eligible for travel assistance.
Please register by February 2nd to attend either the entire day (including lunch) or just the morning of afternoon conversations (not including lunch).
